A peshtemal is a traditional Turkish towel used in baths. A staple of Persian and Ottoman hammam culture, dating back hundreds of years, the peshtemal was originally designed to help individual bathers maintain their privacy. In addition to being highly absorbent, peshtemals dry faster than thicker towels.
These towels are also great for the beach, picnics, or table coverings and can be folded or rolled small for easy transport.
The pattern of the evil eye peshtemal is made with a wood press. This traditional handicraft wood print (the process of transferring the pattern onto the fabric) started 600-700 years ago and continues to be used to this day.
All of our peshtemals are 100% cotton and are woven in Turkey.
